30 day challenge!

I am embarking on a new 30 day challenge! And boy am I excited! I always am trying to improve myself so I'm really excited that I'll be working on THREE goals these next 30 days. Here they are:

1. Floss every day. Yeah, I'm a no flosser. GROSS and unhealthy! Super unhealthy! That's why I've decided to start. I am NOT excited about this! I hate all things teeth! I'll move this to twice a day once I get used to the terrible thing. Any tips on flossing in the back? Haha, j/k.. sort of..

2. Read my bible 30 minutes per day. At least. This is something that is VERY important to me yet I put it off. I think I'm going to try 15 minutes when I wake up and then 15 minutes when I go to bed. Then I'm going to gradually move up to 30 minutes for each.

3. Exercise. I used to work out EVERYDAY of my life. I played basketball from the time I was 8 til I was 18 and most of that was year around. I literally worked out 320+ days a year the latter part of that. When I graduated, I stopped. I've been trying to start ever since. I'm giong to try AGAIN to force myself. We'll see how that goes! I'm aiming for 3x a week for 30 minutes a day. I'll probably be addicted after a month and going a lot more hopefully. I'm going to try to knock this out early in the week so I make sure I get it in. Especially now that our new place has a little bitty fitness room with all the stuff I want- elliptical, treadmill, bike. YAY!

So, what things have you been putting off? I urge you to list them in the comments section and to commit to making the next thirty days of your life a new start in an area or two in your life! I'm sure we'll all feel so much better!

Not Much on the Deals front, but MEAL PLAN!

I have no news on the deals front, but have been considering starting to plan my menus for each week to save time. Plus I'm super excited to try out new meals so this could be really cool. Also, I'm going to start baking break! Whoo! All this will probably go down the drain when I start tutoring almost full time in addition to coordinating. But still.. it's fun for now!

Here's what I'm planning for the rest of this week:

Breakfast-
We have tons of foods that we decide on when we wake up- cereal with fruit, eggs and toast with fruit, toaster strudels that I got super cheap with a coupon with eggs, etc. I made some banana bread now which we all just LOVE!

Lunch- I normally pack the guys (fiance and roommate) some snacks (granola bars, crackers, chex mix, other convenience foods I get for super cheap) with some sort of "main course" like hotdogs, pb&j, etc. They really like hotdogs. Which are sick but we have tons right now. I usually stick a banana with it a couple days of the week to make it better for them. For me I just eat leftovers, or whatever I find around the house to snack on.

Thur- cheddar chicken rice crockpot soup w/ toast (i'm using chicken stock from the chicken I boiled for stir fry. unfortunately I forgot to go ahead and cook the chicken for this meal as well)
Fri- leftovers from the week
Sat- Tacos with salad on the side
Sun- A butternut squash recipe. I have been wanting to try butternut squash for awhile now but it's normally so dang expensive. Luckily it's on sale for 99 cents a lb at albertsons this week! YAY! Anyone have any excellent recipes?!

and next week:
Mon- Taco soup with leftover taco meat
Tue- Meatless spaghetti with homemade bread on the side
Wed-BBQ sausage sandwiches with some healthy sides.
Thur-Leftovers or something super easy cause I'll be wrapping things up for the work week and getting ready for the retreat!
Fri- will be going to a church retreat so won't be cooking until sunday)
Sun- Something with the leftover sausage-- probably jambalaya or gumbo or something

YAY!
